Construction is a complex industry. It includes many stakeholders from owners, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers, and those firms who offer services to the construction industry. Understanding the industry and the various challenges of each sector in the industry will give participants a much broader insight into this great industry.
For that reason, the Canadian Construction Association (CCA), along with construction association executives from across Canada developed an educational course: Construction 101
This course will give participants an overview of how the industry works in Canada. Participants will engage in learning activities that will enable them to better understand project delivery from concept to closeout.
This course will outline the basics of construction which include procedures, laws and processes that will focus on:

• Methods of Construction Procurement
• Construction Documents
• Tendering, Bidding and Award of Contracts
• Format of Contracts
• Laws, Standards and Procedures in Construction
• Risk Management in Construction
• Construction Project Management and Administration
This course is ideal for administrative staff or anyone who is new to the Construction Industry.
This course is accredited for 2 Gold Seal credits
