About the Gold Seal Program
The CCA Gold Seal Certification Program is a national certification program for construction Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators and Owners. Certification is based on the candidate’s education, experience and their ability to satisfy the rigorous standards of the Program. This may mean the successful completion of a Gold Seal exam. The Gold Seal Certificate was developed by the industry and for the industry and is a voluntary certification program for the individual. The Certificate signifies that the individual has attained a nationally recognized level of experience and competence as a Project Manager, Superintendent, Estimator or Owners.
For the individual – the Gold Seal Certificate is a declaration of skill and competence that is recognized by the construction industry across the country. The Certificate will enhance mobility and professional development of construction managers.
For the contractor – employing Gold Seal Certified managers is a statement regarding the professionalism and commitment of the firm to construction management excellence. A Gold Seal Certificate assists employers in recruiting capable construction managers.
To date, there have been more than 8, 000 certificates issued under the Gold Seal Program

Changes to Gold Seal Certification – Effective January 1st, 2017
New Mandatory Education
All Gold Seal applicants will have to take the Construction Industry Ethics 101 course (both online and classroom portions). Gold Seal has allocated a total of 3 credits to this course (2 for the online portion and 1 for the classroom portion).
NEW GSI Application Fee
Applicants who register as Gold Seal Interns will only pay a $100.00 registration fee. Once approved to challenge the exam the Gold Seal Intern will then pay the $500.00 application fee to write.
The Online exam initiative is well underway. We will be able to provide a launch report towards the end of 2016. Launch is expected in early to mid 2017.
Gold Seal Accredited Education
Education is a key part of the Gold Seal Certification program. Credits toward your Gold Seal Certified (GSC) or Professional, Gold Seal Certified (P.GSC) designations can be earned through a variety of educational offerings – from seminars of as few as six hours to 30 hour courses to technician/technologist or engineering programs.
Gold Seal applicants can take, and submit, courses from any colleges, universities, private agencies, construction associations, etc., as long as they meet the criteria above.
